Ok, First blog for a long time... Here it goes.
Life is wonderful! Really, I have no complaints...except...no, just kidding. I have two of the cutest, smartest, well-behaved little girls of all time. I sit and think, how on Earth did I get so lucky? It truly amazes me. Ernie and I are wonderful. He has been really busy at work, which is fan.tas.tic! Especially in the real estate market in the economic down-turn. We try to spend every one of our free minutes, sucking up all the time we can with our girls, before "little guy" arrives in 12 weeks.
Yeah, 12 weeks, I am officially in my THIRD trimester. I am beyond excited to have another little person in this house. As much as I did not like the idea of being pregnant again or really even the thought of having another child. I have come to love being pregnant and am actually very excited to have another person join our family. Weird how things can change so fast, but I guess they have to when you don't have much of a choice. My pregnancy has been enjoyable. I never thought I would EVER say those words in the same sentence, but yes, enjoyable. I am not sure if it is because it is a boy, or the fact that I have been able to keep up on my fitness. But my thought is that it is a combination of both. Ernie has been wonderful in supporting my gym habit by getting the girls to bed 3-4 nights a week. The gym is what keeps me sane (partially).
Speaking of fitness... I have gained waaay more weight than I had wanted to at the start of this pregnancy. Prior to getting "knocked-up" I had lost 70 pounds and lookin' good (actually fantastic) in a size 6. A SIX. I have never, ever, ever been a 6! I was even able to feel good in a bikini when we went to Vegas in August... Now, I find myself 30 pounds heavier and it is not in my "baby bump" My butt, thighs, boobs have taken a beating, even with going to the gym at least 5 nights a week. Gaining the weight has been hard, but I know it is my bodies way of protecting the baby... the midnight eatings/hog fest aren't very good for the problem either. On to goals.
I have set my goal for next year: loose all the baby weight.. hopefully fast... and start training for my first triathlon, and finish my first triathlon before I turn 31. My training has begun with the swimming and biking. I can do long distances of both, so I think I will be fine there but the running I am totally freaked out about. That is on hold until baby is out in the free world though. OMG, proof reading this, I sound so vain...I'm not, I really just felt so good 6 months ago.
We are really looking forward to a fun and exciting Summer. Both girls are currently taking swimming lessons and are both very comfortable in the water. We are going to be getting one of those above ground pools this year, which will be great for all of us. Ruby is a waterdog. Seriously, she is a great swimmer.. mama's girl. Ruby is also taking a dance class at the rec center and has turned out to be a fantastic little dancer. She will be having a recital this next month (June 16th) to preform her "princess dance". We are so proud. Harlyn is growing up very quickly, except in size (nothing is wrong, just tiny) She is a walking, talking little monster. She likes to push everyone's buttons. Really. She loves to taunt Ruby... she walks by her and says "Ruby is BAD".. Sending Ruby into a crying mess (tender heart). She is in that weird stage between baby and toddler that is very trying, to say the least. You should see the battle of the car seat, yikes.
I will be ready for a big HUGE beer or margarita just after this baby is born!! Let me know if you would like to join me! Cheers!
